Experience

David Gross is a Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm with approximately $185 billion in assets under management. He is also Managing Partner of Asia, guiding our platform strategy and activities in the region.

Mr. Gross joined Bain Capital in 2000 and was a founding member of Bain Capital’s Asia business, having launched and managed the Tokyo office in 2006. He was instrumental in the expansion of the firm’s Asia platform covering the firm’s activities across the private equity, private credit, special situations, life sciences, and technology businesses. During his tenure, Mr. Gross has worked on several of the firm’s most prominent transactions in Asia. He currently sits on the board of Kioxia (formerly Toshiba Memory). He also led the creation of the firm’s Macro team which provides macroeconomic insights and investment strategies to benefit the broader platform.

Prior to Bain Capital, Mr. Gross was a consultant with Bain & Company from 1998-2000 and worked with NEC Corporation in Tokyo from 1992 to 1996.


Philanthropy

Mr. Gross serves on several non-profit boards including the Berklee College of Music, Boston Children’s Hospital Trust Board, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences Board of Overseers, and the advisory boards of the Kelly Writer’s House and the Center for the Advanced Study of India, both at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Board member of Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio S.p.A.


Education

Mr. Gross received an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar and a B.S. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
